Are all of the interleaving/packing options really actually used? Every DPX file I have seen is pixel interleaved with filled 32 bit words, and I'm wondering if it is really necessary to support all of the different types of storage.

Is there at least one format that is universally accepted? Do I need to implement options on my DPX file writing to support any apps out there that might happen to only support channel interleaving (for example)?
